Yes, but it wouldn't solve my problem. In that case there are chances that the router and the device gets the same address. Read my last para to understand what was the exact problem I faced.

Nish, I've fixed it.
I can't quite believe it, and please tell me if I've made things worse by doing so...

I performed the following:
Start > Run
"CMD"
"ipconfig"

I then noted that the Connection-specific DNS suffix noted that the IPv4 address was the same as the Desire's.
I then opened:
Control Panel > Network and Sharing
"Manage Wireless Networks"
"Adapter Properties"
I then highlighted Internet Protocol version 4 and clicked Properties.
I then clicked the "Obtain IP address automatically" radio button

Lo and behold, everything works beautifully.

The question is, have I done the right thing?!

Cheers and New year beers.

Hey Nish,

1. Yes. A single unit, and the address is as you've stated.
2. Yes. I've tried, but it fails to connect.
3. Yes. Specifically when the two are connected at the same time. The Wii, and my other half's iPhone pose no problem.
4. No, not at all.

I concur with the IP conflict answer, my problem is how to fix it! I haven't the faintest idea.
